My Cork decoys are for hunters not collectors. I carve decoys designed to get birds into the set so I can pop them (Should have said pop at them).
Feathering details are generally sparse or absent. What had always mattered most to me was flotation and cork does that best of all.
One morning my son John and I were out on a sunny day and we had a large varied spread out. We had corks, plastics and foam decoys as we were just trying to decoy anything at a new spot.
As the sun came up it was easy to see why ducks prefer to come into cork decoys. They looked like ducks, no reflections from the paint job, no abnormal dancing around in the light wind.
They just looked like ducks!

I love that old style of bob tail on this Can drake.

This Greenwing Teal is just home from a hunt. His head position is a feeding position for teal, who feed off the surface in very shallow water.
I am using cord locks on Tanglefree line on my puddlers, but I am also using some of the Texas rig anchor system. Both are working well for me.
