Working like mad to catch up on orders and do some things just for me!

These cork Cans are heading to TX soon. They will be hunting in the Trinity River area.
Cans ready for TX
A pair of buffies of hollow cedar and artists oils. Love those buffies, they are so cute. And they work magic on slow days.
Hollow cedar with artists oils and more detailing than I generally do. These are going to be rentals at the JACDUCK LODGE.
hollow cedar pintail, cork GWT and the mallard hens make a nice puddler rig.
Ringneck pair hollow cedar artist oils along with the buffies.
Barrows Goldeneye pair of cork and acrylic paints.
These are just some of the decoys I have done recently and have pictures of. Currently there are 6 species in various stages of the process. Mostly filling the desire of others for special decoy rigs.
This pair of Buffies are hollow cedar with artists oils. What fun they are to do and hunt with. Buffies sure can make a poor day successful. As soon as they show up here in MI I have some in my diver spread.
Who doesn't love Canvasbacks? This pair are hollow cedar, basswood heads and artists oils. I have plans for this pair.

This Greenwing teal pair are cork bodies, basswood heads and artists oils. Actually I would rather paint cork with acrylic because it is sooo much easier and less time consuming.

Two different Mallard hen styles. The first is a jumbo that is going to North Dakota with me as a rental at the JacDuck Lodge for hunters flying in. She is carved in a classic style without sidepockets and little things that differentiate the difference between "classic" and "contemporary" styles. The second is only about 20% over life size. Both are hollow cedar with artists oils as the paint, just like the old timers did.

Hollow cedar pintail drake in classic style. This means oil paints and smooth carving.

These Ringnecks are cork bodies, basswood heads with artists oils. They actually part of a rig of 8 I carved for my son John. When he was in the Army in the 1980s he came home for a couple of days hunt and we got in to the Ringnecks big time in a gale force wind. Shooting was poor but the memory is still with us as it probably is with our pal "Jumbo"

Funny things happen. Two different weekends, two different shows. Different judges and different results. These Hooded Mergansers are proof. Ya gotta love decoy competitions, I sure do. None of my decoys are carved specifically for competition. All are intended to go hunting!

SCFWA show Aug 13, 2011. Results speak for themselves.

Maumee Bay Carvers show 8/20/2011.
Different results but both shows are great to be at with many carving friends in attendance.

Most of these decoys are already sold before going to shows. I post them only as examples of my hunting decoy carvings.
